Japandroids are two dudes from Vancouver who just put out their debut cd “Post-Nothing”- available on itunes. The twosome shred it nice and dirty with their mix of throwback garage rock and lo fi noise, which is a relief in this day and age of one new electro pop band after another. The song above “Young Hearts Spark Fire” is by far the best song off the album, and with lyrics like “We used to dream/Now we worry about dying/I don’t want to worry about dying/I just want to worry about the sunshine girls,” the band perfectly encapsulates what its like to be young and dumb in this deflated era of bombed out banks and subway 5 dollar footlong commercials. “Wet Hair” and “Sovereignty” are my other favorite songs on the album so check them out, and make sure to check them out this summer when they go on tour- I’m seeing them at Pianos on July 11 if anyone is in the area.
Also because I’ve never blogged on this jazz before and because I just feel like sharing, here is a list of songs you must go download immediately-
