Los Angeles, 1950's Style
So right about this time last year I was soaking up all that beautiful Los Angeles had to offer. It was Spring Break and Southern California was sunny, warm, and welcoming. The Connecticut rain and gloom? But a distant memory.
Unfortunately, I’m not repeating my West Coast jaunt this year, but I have these really awesome vintage pictures of L.A. from the ’50s and ’60s to help quench my wanderlust.
I found them on the blog A Continuous Lean, but they were originally posted on Neat Stuff Blog. Both are worthy of your time and visit.

So “Stuff White People Like” - one of my favorite blogs everrrrr - just published a long overdue update. Their newest target of white culture is the “Trinbiquitous” Ray Ban Wayfarer. Its another bit of self-depreciating humor that the writers at SWPL are SO good at. And its funny because its so true…
If you’re not acquainted with the site, take a peek at it. You’ll find elaborations on certain classics of modern white “intellectual” life such as Coffee, Writing Workshops, The Sunday New York Times, Whole Foods, Liberal Arts Degrees, and Unpaid Internships. The list goes on and on. And don’t feel bad about liking virtually everything on the list. The writers who are poking fun are just as “white” as you are. It takes one to know one, right?
(Note: The first picture is a screen shot from the film Jazz On A Summer’s Day that I’ve written about before. The second is of Vampire Weekend performing. I found both pictures on the blog A Continuous Lean.)
