I don’t want to do my work, so here is some music

Think About Life- Havin’ My Baby
Check out the whole album, but this is the clear standout
Sleigh Bells- Crown on the Ground
Raunchy, dirty dancefloor fun… one of the bands that “blew up” at CMJ last month
Neon Indian are awesome. This song is awesome.
Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros- Home
I have to give credit to taylor and lily for this one, but if you haven’t heard it, you must. The part at the end when it breaks down into conversation kills me.
this a stone groove
Chilean minimalist producer layers hazy, silky electronic beats over acapella doo wop-esque humming…all i have to say is that i wish this song was around when roller rink birthday parties were all the rage
This song has been around forever in “blog years” but i haven’t seen anyone post it so i figured someone has to. The second half of this song is straight bliss, angelic hums collide with a bassline that could have been plucked from any New Order track, making your booty and soul sway. Check out Memory Tapes previous projects, specifically the song “50 mph” by Memory Cassette.

We all know actors should never make music- just take a look at this.
Luckily for Ryan Gosling, that isnt the case. Gosling teamed up with good friend Zach Shields and the Silverlake Conservatory of Music Children’s Choir to form “Dead Man’s Bones.” Their music sounds like night of the living dead meets arcade fire- moody, gothic, haunting, yet somehow inspiring and original. “Pa Pa Power” definitely has the most crossover potential on the album- but check out other stand outs “My Body Is A Zombie For You” and “In the Room Where You Sleep”- which literally sounds like its straight out of a 50’s horror film. The band isn’t going to change your life but it’s great music for these cold fall days.
Get excited, Vampire Weekend just revealed the cover art and tracklisting for their sophmore album, “Contra.” While it doesnt come out until January 12, 2010, the preppy babe on the front cover suggests that the band probably hasn’t strayed too far from their summery, afro pop influenced odes to WASP-dom. Love em’ or hate em’, it’s sure to be one of the catchiest albums of 2010.
Here are some songs I’ve been enjoying recently….
“Despicable Dogs” by Small Black
“Psychic City (Classixx Remix)” by YACHT
“Heart Skipped a Beat” by The XX
“Big Weekend (Delorean Remix)” by Lemonade

The Very Best really are the very best. Ive had a boner for them since their mixtape came out last year and their full length album is coming out this fall. Chekc out their second single, “Yalira,” the production is astounding, makes me want to turn into a zebra and run triumphantly through the Serengetti.
Also everyone should download this song, because late night is just around the corner and lord knows you better have your moves ready because I’ve been practicing all summer
Here’s the trailer for Wes Anderson’s adaptation of Roald Dahl’s classic book “The Fantastic Mr. Fox.” While stop motion animation is a new format for Anderson, the film seems to have his signature wit and style. It doesn’t come out until November 13th, but with this and Spike Jonze’s “Where The Wild Things Are” coming out in October it looks like the movies this fall will be a great place to indulge both your inner child and cinephile.

Delorean have done some pretty dope remixes in the past- the best being for Lemonade and The Mystery Jets- but their new EP reveals that this foursome from Barcelona really have what it takes. Imagine if Cut Copy, The Tough Alliance, and Air France, had a sexy menage a trois and this is what you get. Delorean underscore everything I love about electronic music in that they use technology to create something so natural sounding, as though these beats just happened to wash up on the shore. Their EP, Ayrton Senna, just dropped today and was added to Pitchfork’s growing list of Best New Music- and after listening to the short but beautiful album, I couldn’t agree more. This track- “Monsoon” is my personal favorite today, but ask me tomorrow and I’m sure the answer will have changed.
“Ready For The Weekend” is the second song to be released from Calvin Harris’ new album- also entitled “Ready For The Weekend.” The song is downright electro fun, which is exactly what we’ve come to expect from the scotsman, especially after the banger that was “I’m Not Alone.” So check out the video and get ready for the new album which drops August 17th!
also who knew cregan was famous! what what!
