Kid Cudi & Dan Black - Symphonies Video
I got turned onto Dan Black last spring with his cover of Notorious BIG’s Hypnotize.
He took the same beat, made an original track called Symphonies, and did a remix with Kid Cudi. That’s a lot of mileage out of one track.
Anyways, the music video for the Kid Cudi remix came out this week and I think it’s pretty fresh. Like Justice’s DVNO video’s use of logos, Black and Cudi pay homage to a wide variety of movie title sequences.
BONUS
1) our new friend Jeff put together this Passion Pit remix of the original Symphonies. This wasn’t part of the playlist Tuesday night but still gives me flashbacks to that after-party. Listen to it here (mp3/right-click to download)
2) If you’re a fan of classic movie titles, check out this website, The Art of the Title - it compiles the best title sequences in the past 20 years. Random, but awesome! Below are a few of my favorites.
Older movies are way better but I can’t find many online.
I really like musical explosions.
Speaking of, one of the most musically explosive songs I know is the Trentemoller Remix of Röyksopp’s What Else Is There.
