if you want music designed to sweat and rub up on stuff to, you’ll dig sweat x. here’s some particularly grimy electro hop from the South African duo

dipset producer, araabmuzik goes to town on a 16 pad MPC sampler…
serious jam right here…this track shows truman peyote crafting a flawless toe tapper, a move away from the dense, effect soaked “pygmy music” that characterizes much of their other eps…
this track brings about the inescapable animal collective comparison but besides a couple of quirks like the children singing at the beginning of the song, the band is for sure doing their thing on this…
bang this
and tap your foot…
live performance from Heed on 106th and Park. The group has a real cool style with a live drummer and trombone player. It’s nice to see the trombone without an attatched marching band and these guys pull it off well. I recently saw them live and pretty much everyone there got soaking wet. check out this vid for “Legz.”
Das Racist has gotten a lot of attention this summer following their cult smash “Combination Pizza Hut and Taco Bell.” The song is great, but many are letting the awesomely stupid summer jam overshadow all of Das Racist’s work.
The band consists of two emcees and a drummer, who actually abandoned his kit halfway through the set at a show I saw at Southpaw (this drummer must be a badass braaaahhh) The band has serious steez tho, rocking a sick electro hop sound with spitfire vocals that are a marriage between ghostface’s signautre frenetic word association raps and hilarious word plays like those of MC Paul Barman and the late Mitch Hedberg. Peep this video for “Chicken and Meat.” get wet
One of my favorite songs from one of my favorite bands of the summer, “Lust for life” is off Girls’s upcoming album entitled, well….”Album”. The video, directed by Aaron Brown is rocking a nice hi8 style that feels good on my eyes…i dig. album drops September 22nd on True Panther Sounds, peep it.
soaking wet….this mix will get you soaking wet….theophilus london rips this remix, bringing solange’s “sandacastles disco” from an easily forgettable teeny-boppin didley to an xxxplosive dancefloor firestarter
unbelievable track from “yolanda”, guatemala city’s EP…i especially like the song’s title “panera” as it is where gabi (g-city) works…an ode to a restaurant that revolves around bread and fetta knick-knacks
