“congratulations” out officially today
Listen to MGMT’s newest album for free on their website and watch the video for their single “Flash Delirium.” I heard some of this last summer at Prospect Park with Mer, and embedded within their songs from Oracular Spectacular and their work as The Management, the new stuff didn’t stand out as much. Less melodic, I guess you could call it… but definitely worth a download! I sense huge late night remix potential.
Fall Be Kind EP
Two weeks ago, Animal Collective released the Fall Be Kind EP.
Taking top honors for SPIN’s 2009 Top Album List, Merriweather Post Pavilion seemed like the best piece of work the band would put out this year. However, the Fall Be King EP builds off of a lot of the sounds and styles and offers another enjoyable, experimental psych-pop experience (can’t get enough of those!)
What Would I Say? Sky has been favorite track on the EP, with a cool Grateful Dead sample and an amazing shift from psychedelic noise to low key melody.

“Horchata”
Fresh from the boys of Vampire Weekend - check out the first single of their upcoming sophomore album, Contra.
The track has an understated bounce to it with some fun drumming for the chorus. Not as catchy as Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa, but still an enjoyable song.
All in all it makes sitting on the beach of Martha’s Vineyard, listening to African drums and sipping on some delicious horchata seem totally normal…
