For some reason a lot of bands from Australia have continued to come into my world for the past couple of years: Empire of the Sun, Silverchair, Wolfmother, The Vines, etc. Well now it’s THE TEMPER TRAP; an indie rock band from Melbourne, Australia. Their sound, as I can best classify it, is big energy, almost like Mute Math’s, with their grand guitars, atmospheric interludes, and sweet background voice lines. “Science of Fear” is one of their more well-known songs, but one of my favourites are called “Love Lost,” “Rest,” and “Sweet Disposition.” Another one I like is called “Down River,” almost because it sounds a little like Shout Out Louds, a band from Stockholm. The ending to that song is intensely awesome. The song I posted is a Mistabishi Remix version of “Science of Fear,” but the actual song is awesome by itself. It’s from their debut album Conditions, which came out in June of 2009. If anyone wants to get their music (FO FREE), it’s on my Mojo, or if you want to listen to it on myspace, do so here.
